Viewing the city through unusual viewpoints is the predominant theme in my work. I set out
to interact with and photograph
the built environment around me. Construction sites, underground tunnels, abandoned buildings, and drains are all elements of the urban environment which have played or continued to play vital roles in supporting modern urban life, yet we have few personal encounters with these places.
Most of our day to day interactions with the urban environment are dulled to a point where we cease to imagine what lies
beneath that manhole, or beyond that construction fence. These images are meant to document this hidden side of the city,
places that exist in plain view, but are rarely ever seen. I believe that by exploring your surroundings, you can better question
and ultimately understand the city and your place within it.
